
About Timothy
Timothy is currently living in Albuquerque, NM. He is the owner/operator of Maylander Vocal Productions, a premiere voice acting/narration studio. He also recently finished his thesis and earned his Master's degree from the University of Missouri in 2022. He graduated with a Master of Arts in Journalism and a Master's Minor in College Teaching.
From 2018-21, he taught English classes in New Mexico: Most recently middle school English and journalism at Explore Academy (2020-21), but before that he taught Advanced Placement English and was the assistant debate coach at Volcano Vista high school (2019-2020). He also served as English Department Chair at the Early College Opportunities HS in Santa Fe, NM (2018-19), and at Lloyd C. Bird HS as an English teacher in Chesterfield, VA (2017-18). He has been moving to support his wife, Mary, as she pursues internships and now a residency in Veterinary Neurology. The two were married in November of 2019. From 2015-17, Tim taught Journalism and English classes at Jefferson City High School in Missouri.
As a graduate student at the University of Missouri, he worked in several newsrooms during his time at MU, including the Columbia Missourian, KBIA (an NPR affiliate) and KOMU (an NBC affiliate). He also taught a section of an undergraduate class, Fundamentals of Multimedia Journalism. Timothy worked as a Graduate Instructor at the university for four semesters. Before moving to Missouri, he worked in various education positions as well as in telecommunications. He also served as an editor for an Alexa top-100 website. At the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Timothy triple majored in Communications (journalism emphasis), Political Science, and Environmental Policy & Planning (policy emphasis). He graduated in 2009 with a B.A. and a B.S. while earning the prestigious Chancellor's Leadership Medallion. Timothy is originally from Appleton, WI, where he graduated from Appleton West High School with the “Heart of West” award.
